Sealed Spherical Roller Bearings

With reliable protection against contamination

Spherical roller bearings are double row, self-retaining units comprising solid outer rings with a concave raceway, solid inner rings and barrel rollers with cages. The inner rings have cylindrical or tapered bores. The symmetrical barrel rollers orient themselves freely on the concave outer ring raceway. As a result, shaft flexing and misalignment of the bearing seats are compensated.

Split spherical roller bearings

Costs savings through rapid bearing replacement at difficult to access bearing locations

Split spherical roller bearings are principally used where the replacement of unsplit spherical roller bearings would require costly additional work, involving the removal of gears or couplings, the dismounting of drives or the dismantling of shaft power trains. The use of split spherical roller bearings reduces the downtime of machinery and plant.

Spherical Roller Bearings E1

Higher cost-effectiveness and operational security with X-life

FAG spherical roller bearings have proved highly effective wherever high loads are present and there is a need to compensate for shaft deflections and/or misalignment of bearing seats.

Cable sheave bearings SL04 on the semi-submersible crane vessel Hermod

The two cranes on the Hermod working in tandem can lift up to 8100 t at a radius of 39 m. At minimum radius, the auxiliary hoists are capable of each lowering 600 t to a depth of 3 000 m under the work deck. The cable sheave bearings SL04 fitted in the crane’s jib reliably transmit the heavy loads under the challenging offshore weather conditions.

Lift Mast Rollers

For Industrial Trucks

Lift masts are subjected to high dynamic and static loads as well as shocks, vibrations and oscillations. They are also heavily exposed to environmental influences such as heat, cold, moisture, dust, aggressive ambient air and contamination. The guidance arrangements of lift masts must therefore be particularly robust and have particularly high load carrying capacity.

Bearing Supports for Industrial Trucks

High Load Capacity – Energy-Saving – Cost-Effective

Our customers can add up. They know it is not the purchase costs for a machine part that are decisive, but the total costs over the entire operating life that count. In the Schaeffler Group, this approach is part of our company’s philosophy. Each of our products generates a measurable economic benefit – regardless of whether it is a longer operating life, an increase in performance, a saving in energy or a reduction in noise.

Heavy Rolling and Plain Bearings in the London Eye

Reference Sheet: The wheel revolves smoothly thanks to the large spherical roller bearings supplied by Schaeffler KG, each of them with an outside diameter of more than 2 meters and weighing several tons. The wheel’s safe foothold is ensured by two large maintenancefree INA/ELGES spherical plain bearings GE 440 DW.
